According to Alejandro Valverde, his next season\u2019s race program doesn\u2019t include Tour de France. The reason why\u00a0he has decided to skip this grand tour is because of a few others, just as big tours; Giro di Italia and Vuleta a Espana, ahead of the World Champioshisps in Austria.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This year, the rider was due to participate in the Tour, Vuelta as well as the Worlds.\u00a0Sadly, his season ended after a horrifying crash on the opening day of the Tour de France. The accident left him with a broken kneecap and a broken talus bone.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Even though he seems to be recovering quite quickly, Valverde has decided to resist the strong temptation to return to riding until next season. It seems the rider has already created next year\u2019s impressive and intense program skipping Tour de France.\u00a0However, the\u00a0ones he’s after\u00a0are definitely some of the world’s most advance and intense tours ever and fitting them into one season’s\u00a0calendar<\/a>\u00a0is a pretty big deal, Tour or with no Tour.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

During an interview, Valverde admitted to be impatient asking his Movistar director, Eusebio Unzue to allow him race in the last week\u2019s Milano-Torino race.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s because I\u2019m feeling good. I\u2019m doing 700 kilometers a week. In my training group, people who\u2019ve known me forever, they say I\u2019m at least as strong as before,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m eager to confirm it in a race.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Valverde also added that once the season rolls around, he likely won\u2019t return to the planned schedule for 2018. \u201cYou can\u2019t write anything off in life, but with the signings the team has made this year, with Landa, with Nairo there\u2026I don\u2019t want to do the Tour,\u201d Valverde said to El Pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cI think next year what I\u2019ll have to do is dedicate myself to the Giro, Vuelta and Worlds. Next year the Worlds in Austria is hard, very hard. If Eusebio said to me, \u2018you decide your calendar\u2019<\/a>, I would say \u2018Classics, Giro, Vuelta, and Worlds\u2019,\u201d said Valverde.<\/p>\n
