On the other hand, Britain\u2019s rider, Thomas, retained the overall lead keeping his yellow jersey.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"fr\">8eme victoire d&#8217;\u00e9tape pour <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/petosagan\">@petosagan<\/a> \/ 8th stage victory for <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/petosagan\">@petosagan<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/TDF2017?src=hash\">#TDF2017<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ctZNFeCT5l\">pic.twitter.com\/ctZNFeCT5l<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Le Tour de France (@LeTour) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LeTour\/status\/881903431874732033\">July 3, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sagan\u2019s performance was remarkable good throughout all the yesterday\u2019s race but he was only able to take the victory on\u00a0the last 300 meters when he sprinted to the finish line overpassing some of the best riders that were already ahead him.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>During an interview, immediately after stage three, Thomas added: &#8220;There were no crashes, which were good, but it was a really hectic final. I&#8217;m happy to get through unscathed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Right after Sagan\u2019s sprint came Geraint Thomas who crossed the finish line two seconds later\u00a0and then, defending champion Froome came third.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>Sagan\u2019s style<\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Even though there were a dozen other riders who could have potentially won the third yesterday&#8217;s stage, none of them showed enough effort when on the last segment of the stage like Sagan did. His poise and persistence during the last 300 meters gave him a well-deserved stage victory.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sagan, when asked to give an opinion regarding the stage results, admitted the last part of it to be a strange finale. &#8220;Richie Porte went hard in the last 700-800m. I tried to catch him but when I caught him I saw how much was left, 400m.
