Astana team with the help of Miguel Lopez and Alexey Lutsenko were able to take Green Mountain’s victory at this season’s Tour of Oman event. Colombian climber Lopez took the stage victory while his teammate Lutsenko finished second and took the overall lead of the competition.
Since in the beginning of the today’s race, a six-men group was immediately created and continued to stay apart from the rest until the final climb of the route.
Even though Vincenzo Nibali was one of the favorites of the stage which clearly favorited climbers, he ended up finishing 1:32 down while Katusha-Alecin Nathan Haas kept his overall spot by finishing in the fifth position at 22 seconds.
