Tour de France Latest News: Thomas keeps yellow as Cort wins 15th stage

Astana’s Magnus Cort has won yesterday’s stage after dominating the route’s three-man main group to sprint to the finish line and grab stage’s 15 crown.

On the other hand, Team Sky’s Geraint Thomas continues to stay in yellow and is now headed to the Tour’s final and most decisive week.

Thomas also leads team-mate and four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome by one minute and 39 secs as defending champion has climbed up to second overall.

“It is rattling through quite nicely and I am looking forward to the rest day,” Thomas said.

“I am not even thinking about winning the Tour de France. I am not even contemplating it.”

Third overall is now taken by Tom Dumoulin who stands 11 seconds behind Froome whose teammate and one of Team Sky’s best riders, Gianni Moscon, was disqualified a couple of hours ago from the tour after hitting another rider.

According to Team Fortuneo-Samsic, Team Sky’s 24-year-old rider had punched their man Elie Gesbert during yesterday’s first kilometer of the stage.

Soon after finishing the race, Team Sky CEO Sir Dave Brailsford said in an official statement that they fully “support and accept” the race organizers’ decision to kick Moscon out of the Tour.
