Three things no one tells you about Ironman

Ironman

You can do it! No one can ever doubt it. If you decide to do an Ironman, then anything is possible, you can even win that thing even though it might be the first time you get do it. Well, we don’t want to demoralize you, but, it’s best to know a few things before you decide to challenge yourself through an Ironman. These are the three things no one has the courage to tell you when you’re training to do an Ironman, not even you coach (if you have one).

Ironman can be dangerous

Without getting too dramatic, when you’re competing in a full-distance event, you‘re also exposed to a certain amount of danger. Remember, an Ironman can literally make your body touch its limits. Different injuries and possible health issues are the main contributor to the danger an Ironman exposes you to. Before deciding to go for it, never underestimate your health’s signals. Taking the right physical and mental measures it’s essential.

Ironman preparation

It can be really hard

Even though most of the people who decide to do an Ironman are capable of getting to the finish line, it is still one of the hardest, most challenging competitions in the world. Taking it too lightly is not always a good idea. We advise you to do your own research, challenge your body and see how much it can handle. Then, you can decide whether you’re ready to put yourself into that state or not.

It can be fun

Yes, it can be a lot of fun if you’re really passionate about these types of challenges. If you’re really prepared and ready to do an Ironman, then it’s best to see it as a funny, yet productive experience. People swear the preparation process, including the dressing up, the photo moments, the support you get from the people around you and the finish line, is something not to be missed at least once in a lifetime.
