Poels is not angry, only disappointed with hit team after they left him out of the Tour. Dutchman expressed his feelings a couple of day ago clearly stating he wasn’t angry at all at Team Sky after deciding to leave him out of the Tour de France squad.
He admitted to be quite disappointed especially after contributing so many times on Froome’s overall victories in the last editions. Poels role has always been very important his team’s classification but it seems his knee injury was the main factor that distributed his elimination from the Tour squad.

Now, Dutchman turns his attentions to the Vuelta a España.
A question mark
During an interview for the Dutch newspaper, Telegraaf, Poels added: “Dave Braislford called me on Wednesday. If you get that call and you hear that you’re not going, it hits you. In recent months I have done everything to get to the Tour. I was confident that I was going. I think I was ready…
He also added he was not angry, only disappointed, even though he partly understands the reasons behind this decision. “I’m not angry, but certainly disappointed. As I understand it, I could not help it. Because of that knee injury I am of course a bit of a question mark.”- said Poels.
Now, Poels plans to readjust his season with the Vuelta a España’s participation on which he hopes to give his best while winning some extra time to fully recover his physical condition.
“In July I’m going to prepare for the Vuelta. What my race programme will be prior to that, I do not know. I’m at least happy that I have no pain in my knee, which is actually the most important thing of all.”- he added.
