Thousands of athletes, spectators and volunteers are expected to come to Panama City Beach tomorrow, Nov 4, for the annual IRONMAN Triathlon event.
This event, being held for 19 years, has now become a true tradition for the Panama City Beach. It will once again gather athletes from 48 states and 59 countries. They will compete to secure a place in the 2018 IRONMAN world Championships that takes place in Hawaii.
“The conditions outside will be perfect for what they are doing. 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and the 26.2 mile run,” IRONMAN Florida race director, Ben Rausa, said during an interview.
“It takes a lot of effort and a lot of people behind this to get to make sure we put it off safely. I would just ask residents to be mindful of the increased athletes on the roads running or biking.”
Traffic warnings
With more than 3,000 athletes preparing to compete along with the volunteers and spectators who will gather to witness the major annual Triathlon event, traffic obstacles are expected. That is why, there are some inevitable changes to its flow.
