Impey is the ultimate winner of this season’s Tour Down Under which came to an end a couple of days ago with Greipel, who fought hard to hold Caleb Ewan right at the finish line, taking the sixth and final stage victory marking his second one after taking the opening stage of the tour a week ago.

On the other hand, the big prize went to South African cyclist Daryl Impey who gave an impressive performance throughout the 90-kilometre stage on city streets.
“Coming in … I didn’t expect to win the race, but sometimes the stars line up and things go according to plan,” Impey told the interviewers soon after finishing the last stage. “I worked real hard in the off-season, so happy to get this win.”
Impey admitted to be thrilled to be the final, overall winner of the event adding: “Thrilled… sometimes the stars line up and everything goes well and according to plan. I worked really hard in the off-season, so happy to get this win.”
