Breaking: Paris-Roubaix 2018 announces wild cards

Paris-Roubaix 2018

ASO race organizers have finally confirmed the 25 squads that are expected to have a spot at this season’s spring event Paris-Roubaix. The first thing to be noticed after having a look at the freshly-updated list of squads is the Belgian and French mix of wild cards.

2018 Paris-Roubaix wild cards:

Cofidis, Delko Marseille Provence KTM, Solutions Crédits, Direct Energie, Veranda’s Willems – Crelan, Team Fortuneo – Samsic, Vital Concept Cycling Club and WB Aqua Protect Veranclassic.

Last season, Van Aert made a declaration saying that he would love to focus more on a road career and that he is looking forward to follow in the footsteps of Zdenek Stybar, cyclo-cross world champion.

“I’m happy. One of the reasons I planned my cyclo-cross season this year is because I want to get a taste of the big Classics in the spring. We’d have always assumed that we would ride but it is a relief that it’s been confirmed,” he stated.

“Paris-Roubaix perhaps suits me the best considering my physique and at Paris-Roubaix, the smallest details count, so we will prepare with perfection.”

Even though the route of this season’s race is yet to be made public, the race’s date is set to be April 8. Squads for the three races are as follows:
