A big ‘mistake’: Sagan considers decision to throw him out of the Tour, a mistake!

Peter Sagan

According to the world champion, the decision Tour de France jury took to throw him out of the competition was a big mistake. Sagan also added they did not consult him before making the decision and that was just wrong on Sagan’s eyes.

It has been almost two weeks now since Peter Sagan was brutally disqualified from the Tour de France and he has yet to accept the decision the jury took about him. He had to go home after an incident Sagan seemed to cause that involved Mark Cavendish during the final moments of the fourth stage.

The horrifying crash caused by Sagan’s wrong moves, left Cavendish and other riders as well injured and out of Tour.

“For sure I did some analysis. I can accept that I’m out of the race, but I can’t accept the decision that the jury made. It’s just a big mistake I think,” Sagan said during an official interview.

After the final decision the head of jury, Philippe Marien was the one to face the pressroom and give the announcement regarding the Sagan’s disqualification form the race.

Not consulted…

However, even though Dimension Data was able to add its final thoughts regarding the incident, Peter Sagan admits he was never consulted when the decision was being made.

“I want to say, I’m out of the race, but the jury never spoke to me. They never asked for an explanation,” Sagan said. “They just said that I did wrong and I was violent. That is bad, to say that I’m violent when you didn’t do anything wrong. This I don’t accept, because I didn’t do something wrong.”

Now, Sagan will have to return to racing at the Tour de Pologne. It is expected to take place on July 29, right before another important tour; BinckBank Tour which will start on August 7. This will also be the tour where Sagan will compete to defend and keep his world title.
