Long-course racing, Short-course racing

With a degree in Nursing and 20+ years in healthcare, I approach endurance coaching with a significant understanding of the human body and how it functions.  I then transitioned from working with the sick & injured to attempting to prevent illness by becoming an endurance coach.

In 2007, I entered the fitness world and earned the Certified Strength & Conditioning Certification for the National Strength & Conditioning Association.  This certification led to me working as a personal trainer in Gainesville, FL.  While a personal trainer I was assigned several clients with advanced medical issues, including cardiac disease and Multiple Sclerosis.  After several moves up the East Coast, I landed in New Jersey and obtained his RRCA Running Coach and Obstacle Course Racing coaching certification and began training clients in running and OCR from 5K to marathon distance races.  In 2018, I decided to switch from the retail side of triathlon and pursue coaching once again.  It was then when John obtained his Ironman and USAT coaching certifications.  I began working with Axes Performance Coaching, earned my Ironman Coaching certification and learned from their mentorship program many of the fundamentals that are not achieved in the classroom environment.

Over the years, I has coached hundreds of athletes in the U.S. and Canada for all distances of triathlon, running and obstacle course racing from Full Ironman to 5K running races to 13-mile Tough Mudder obstacle course challenges.  As an athlete, I am an Ironman Finisher and has completed multiple Ironman 70.3 races and has achieved Ironman All-World Athlete status 4 years in a row.  I have also completed multiple marathon and half marathons, is a 5x Tough Mudder (10-12 miles) finisher, Civilian-Military Combine Finisher, and GoRuck Tough Finisher.

Through Axes, we offer customized coaching to optimize his clients’ performance every day, not just on race days.  Being a father, husband and triathlete, helps me understand my client’s needs to balance their journey in endurance sport with the rest of their lives.
