As the Coordinator of Sport Science at the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine, Neal is able to offer a range of services to help endurance athletes. He coaches a limited number of one-on-one athletes per year, and is also available for individual training and coaching consultations. Through Boulder Center for Sports Medicine Bike Fits, Physiology Testing (VO2 Max, Lactate Profile, Wingate, etc.), Gait Evaluations, and other sports medicine related visits can be arranged.
Physiology of endurance exercise and competition, use of heart rate monitors in training, and successfully training and competing while working 40-hours per week.
Neal is an exercise physiologist and coach with experience applying both the art and science to sport and exercise. He was inspired to enter the field of sport science by a visit to the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Neal earned his bachelor's of science degree in Exercise and Sport Science from Penn State University, and his master's degree in Kinesiology and Applied Physiology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. While at CU, Neal coached the University of Colorado Triathlon Team to 2 consecutive USA Triathlon National Collegiate Championships and in 1999 was selected to coach the USAT Collegiate National Team at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. He is a member of USA Triathlon's National Coaching Committee, and coaches athletes of all levels. Neal has raced as an endurance athlete for over 13 years, and the past 4 seasons as a professional triathlete.
