Working in the fitness industry for the last 10 years, I have worked with individuals from various backgrounds, and who have had a broad array of goals. Whether it was losing 80lbs, finishing their first Olympic Triathlon, qualify for the Boston Marathon, or upgrade to Category 1 Road Cyclist, my clients have met, and exceeded their goals time after time. With virtually no injuries due to training/over training, my clients cross the finish line of their events healthy, and able to continue to build their fitness. They have been incredibly pleased with the knowledge-base I have, and the practical application through which performance is achieved.
I have a bachelors in Exercise Science, with a minor in Coaching, am a National Strength & Conditioning Association Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach (NSCA-CSCS) with experience in S &C with a top 25 Division 1 Collegiate program, having worked with all Olympic Sports. I have over 7 years of experience working in a 1-on-1 setting (including personal training), and over 9 years experience coaching individuals, and teams.
I have taught Learn To Swim programs, focusing on proper body positioning, and stroke. I believe that bio-mechanics are paramount when it comes to performance, and decreasing risk of injury.
Personally, I run and swim for leisure, and Cycle semi-competitively. I believe in Yoga, Pilates, and Gyro, amongst other things, and STRONGLY believe that being a well-rounded athlete is integral in staying healthy and competitive for not just today, but for the future as well. I believe sport is a part of life, and should be balanced (in accordance with each individuals lifestyle) with time for family &friends.
I have a holistic approach to training and racing, and believe that everything about the athlete should be taken into account when building a training program. I will push you when you need to be pushed, and tell you to rest/recover when you need to rest and recover. I tell it like it is, not what I think you need to hear, and believe it is important to be brutally honest, when the situation calls for it.
I look forward to helping you achieve, and exceed your training and racing goals!
