Triathlon has always played a big role in my life! I have been doing triathlons for over 18 years and have been a USA Triathlon Level 1 Coach since 2001. I have accomplished numerous triathlons, including being a 4x Ironman (Wisconsin, Brazil, Florida and Western Australia), many duathlons, including the 2001 Duathlon World Championship in the Netherlands and many running races.

In 2009, I found CrossFit and I have been hooked ever since. I am a CrossFit Level I and CrossFit Endurance coach and have been coaching since 2011. The last three years taught me how to be a better athlete through strength training and HIT (High Intensity Training) or WOD's. It taught me how to get through being uncomfortable when you are racing.

In 2010, I went back to school at UTSA to get my Masters of Science Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Exercise Science. I love how the human body works. As an athlete, the body needs to be trained for specific events/races. The body needs to learn how to take on a heavy stress load but also needs to learn on how to recover from a heavy stress load. The body and the mind, need to learn how to rest and take care of YOU.

As a coach, I have been in a lab and I have been in the real world, when it comes to triathlon training, CrossFit training,  nutrition and competing (Ironmans and CrossFit competitions). I will always go back to the science of it all...the studies out there based on training are crucial and very informatitive. I think we, as coaches, forget to go back to the basics. Remember where it all began...in the lab.

I am enjoy coaching CrossFit athletes and triathletes and giving them BOTH a piece of both workouts.

I am a much better triathlete with CrossFit and I am a much better Cross Fitter with triathlon. I LOVE being able to combine the worlds together as an athlete and as a coach.
