Level I Triathlon Training: Training typically runs 6-12 weeks beginning with focus on technique, proper form, transition education, bike maintenance, and nutrition. Training then moves on to include endurance, strength, and speed. Beginner training is 6 days per week and will require a minimum of 6 hours per week. Prerequisites include: ability to show understanding and execution of the front crawl swim stroke in the pool. Participants must provide goggles, running shoes, helmet, a bike, and a red blinking bike light.
Level II Triathlon Training: Level II training takes sprint distance triathlons to the next level. We will continue short distance training with a focus on speed, technique, and transitions. Prerequisites include: ability to show understanding and execution of the front crawl swim stroke in the pool for 100yds, and the ability to run 3 miles in under 36 minutes. Race experience preferred but not required. Participants must provide goggles, running shoes, helmet, a bike, and a red blinking bike light.
Level III Triathlon Training: This starts where Level II left off. Training typically runs 8 weeks and picks up where beginner training ends. Participants will further develop endurance, strength, and speed as well as be introduced to time/energy saving methods and more advance bike riding skills. This training is designed for those individuals with race experience and the ability to swim 250yds non-stop, bike 20 miles and run 5 miles. Open water swim ability is required as well. Intermediate training is 6 days per week and will require a minimum of 10 hours per week (includes Saturday group sessions). Participants must provide goggles, a road-bike, running shoes, helmet, and a red blinking bike light.
