This fun, fast course takes you through the landscape of Westchester Commons which starts and finishes on Main Street, with a couple of small hills for good measure. Lots of parking and fun activities for the entire family! Visit www.westchestershamrock.com for a full listing of the day's activities.
Kids Fun Run
The Kids 1k Fun Run is open to children ages 12 and younger. It will be untimed and start and finish on Main Street.
Join our sponsor mascots, the Chick-Fil-A Cow, Bonnie, Broc, and other characters as they celebrate and praise the children for embracing a healthy life style at the start and finish line!
Come early and get a lucky shamrock painted on your childs face.
Each child participating in the Kids 1k Fun Run will receive an official race bib and Westchester Shamrock Fun Run Medal.
Registered students entered into the race as runners or volunteers count towards the school challenge. Help your School win a $500 award!!! (For more information on the "School Challenge" see FAQs.)
Our 1k Kids Fun Run course is "kid friendly" and parents can watch their children start and finish on Main Street.
Charity
Movin' mania Healthy Kids Initiative is the official charitable fundraising partner of the Westchester Shamrock 5k. By participating in the race and making a small contribution, you can support the fight against childhood obesity. One hundred percent of the money raised stays right here in Richmond to help benefit children. Every donation counts and no amount is too small. Race registration fees do not benefit movin' mania.
Movin' Kids to a Healthier Future
Movin' mania is an interactive program for Virginias youth to learn and practice healthier habits. Theres an interactive web portal, games and a chance to earn cool prizes for healthy behaviors. All to help kids and their caregivers become movin maniacs who use nutrition and exercise to stop Overweight and Obesity.
"Overweight" and "Obesity" are affecting the lives of one-third of all children from the ages of 2 - 19.
The initiative brings together health care providers, educators, business and government leaders and families to build healthy lifelong habits in the next generation of Virginians.

The race course starts and ends in Westchester Commons shopping center located in Midlothian, Virginia. The course is certified and the race will be timed by Race DC, LLC.

The event is located at Westchester Commons shopping center in Midlothian, Virginia at the corner of Rt. 288 and Midlothian Turnpike (Rt. 60). If you are entering the shopping center from Midlothian Turnpike, go to the first round-about and bear right. Follow the signs and our parking attendants will direct you to convenient parking with easy access to Main Street. The participant and spectator parking are located in the area between McAlisters Deli and Plaza Azteca.
