Katz JCC 9th Annual Kids Triathlon : Kids Race |
Triathlon : Distance Determined By Age |
All participants will bring their own bike and riding helmet which will be staged in the drop off area in front of the JCC. Bike sections will be labeled for each age group
The race is being professionally timed by L & M sports. Results will be posted online at www.lmsports.com
We also have a professional photographer taking pictures of the event that day.
Racers will begin race in the pool (no diving)
All participants will be wearing their bathing suits throughout the event - once they get out of the pool they can put on their shirts. (instructions will be given about this before the race) Day of event Registration and race packet pickup 12:00pm-1:45pm - JCC lobby
All participants once checked in will meet in the social hall for instructions.
12:45-1:00pm (approx) 7 & 8 staging and pre-race instruction - social hall / outdoor pool
1:00-1:15pm (approx) 7 & 8 year olds begin race outdoor pool
2:00pm (approx) 9 & 10 staging and pre-race instruction - social hall / outdoor pool
2:00-2:15pm (approx) 9 & 10 year olds begin race outdoor pool
3:00 (approx) 11 & 12 staging and pre-race instruction social hall / outdoor pool
3:00-3:15pm (approx) 11 & 12 year olds begin race outdoor pool
4:00-4:15pm (approx) Medals will be awarded for top 3 finishers in each category after event is completed - in the Social Hall (we would like to present medals after each age group but due to the logistics of the day this is something we cannot accomplish and I apologize for that)
Bleachers will be provided on outside pool deck.
Parents may help kids at swim/bike transition only.
Participants will finish the race by entering the shute at the end of the running portion - their individual times will be noted when they cross the finish line.
Xrkade interactive game room will be open from 1:00-4:00pm for participants and families who are either waiting for age bracket to begin or awaiting awards ceremony. The Xrkade room is located on the second floor (take the steps in the lobby on the right hand side and make a right when you get to the top of the steps) - the Xrkade will be in the room on the left
Refreshments for participants and families will be provided in the social hall.
Volunteers on the course are trained in cpr and first aid - first aid kits will be provided as well.
There is a water station on the course as well as water provided when participants cross the finish line. *Times/locations may be subjected to change due to circumstance and progression of the event

7-8 years of age 25 yards .5 mile (1 lap) .5 mile (1 laps)
9-10 years of age 25 yards 1 mile (2 laps) 1 mile (2 laps)
11-12 years of age 50 yards 1.5 miles (3 laps) 1.5 miles (3 laps)
