|Culpeper International Triathlon:-|
|Distance: Swim 1500 Meters, Bike 24 Miles, Run 6.2 Miles|
The swim takes place in the clear waters of Mountain Run Lake where athletes will race 1500 meters and exit into the unique transition area that is the Culpeper Triathlon. The transition area and finish line are in a bowl surrounded by banked seating on either side. After exiting the water athletes will do a bike course that is similar to the sprint course but with the addition of a left hand turn that extends the course by 8 miles for a 24 mile bike course. This is not an easy bike course, but it sure is fun with an extended straightaway on 522 that is great for tucking into the aero position. The run course is a challenging 2 lap version of the sprint course. (Note - the run course may be changing pending VDOT approval of a one lap, out and back course). PLease check the event website for more up-to-date information (www.setupevents.com).
