Description:

The Ride 'Round Rhody will take place on August 30, 2009. It will consist of an approximate 50-mile loop, beginning and ending at one of The Miriam Hospital's parking lots, on North Main Street, in Providence. The loop will take riders out to northwestern RI, along the Scituate reservoir.

Riders will solicit donations in support of their participation in the ride, and the money raised will go to support local cancer treatment at three Rhode Island hospitals.

The first annual Ride 'Round Rhody expects to have between 75 and 100 riders, and we hope these riders will raise more than $30,000 for much needed, local cancer treatment. We have set a goal to contribute 100% of the rider-raised dollars directly to the hospitals.

Course Info:

Ride ‘Round Rhody will start and finish at one of The Miriam Hospital’s parking lots, on North Main Street in Providence. From there, we will head up Smith St. past the State House, and through North Providence into northwestern RI. We will ride a loop that takes us by the Scituate Reservoir, before heading back into Providence. The ride is a compact sample of riding through the entire state, with a short time spent on city streets, before a relaxing ride over rolling hills on roads weaving through the woods. The ride will be 50 miles, with a rest stop just beyond the mid-point. A map can be found on this website.
