Travel to St. George -- Fly into St. George Municipal Airport (SGU) or Las Vegas International (LAS). Shuttle Transportation available to/from Las Vegas International.
Car Rental: Once you arrive in St. George via flight or shuttle, you will NOT need to rent a car if you have chosen the "all-inclusive" option. We will have transportation covered.
Weather: Expect 60s and 70s for the daytime highs with morning lows in the 50s. LOTS of sunshine, so bring Sunscreen!
Swimming: We will swim in a beautiful 25m, 8-lane outdoor pool. While St. George does have a number of beautiful reservoirs to swim in, the water will be likely be too cold for open water swimming the week of the camp.
Biking: Expect a little of everything -- climbs, flats. We will hit most all of the favorite rides -- IM St. George 70.3 Bike course, Veyo loop, Utah Hill, Kolob Reservoir, Snow Canyon State Park, Sand Hollow State Park, among others.
Running: Paved Bike Trails, off-road trails, singletrack, dirt roads. Flats, hills. We have it all!
Altitude: St. George is at 2,700 ft above sea-level. You will probably notice it a little if coming from Sea-level.
Lodging: Green Valley Resort Condominiums. This is our home-base for Camp meals, meetings, etc.
Bike Shipping: If you don't want to travel with your bike, you can ship your bike to us. Let us know when you register and I'll give you our shipping address. If you like, we'll unpack, build and then break-down and pack your bike for a $40 charge (total).
Training Nutrition: We'll provide the essentials -- Sport Drink powder for mixing, Gels, Bars, Electrolyte pills, water. If you have special needs then bring them, or purchase here at a local shop.
Training Sessions: Coach Kirk will lead a 'dream-team' of coaches in every camp training session. Expect 1-1 expert advice from some extremely knowledgeable and technically sound Pros and Coaches. Come ready to LEARN! We will be teaching you a TON throughout the camp -- topics like mechanics, pacing, strength, recovery, nutrition, etc. will be covered, and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions. There will be A/B/C level structured workouts for nearly every single session we do, so every athlete will be challenged and have a opportunities for improvement and fitness break-throughs. What if I'm not a long-course focused athlete? That's OK. There will be different distance/time options for every session. Pick what suits you. Not sure? We'll help you assess the proper amount of work to do throughout the week.
How do I know if I'm "ready" for this camp? As a guideline, athletes attending this camp should have under their belt: 1 hour or 6+ mile longest run session 35 minute or 1500+ meter longest swim session 2 hour or 30+ mile longest bike session
Massage and Recovery Pump: Charity is a licensed massage therapist and will provide massage for the ladies at a rate of $50/hour, $30/half-hour. We will have Recovery Pump available (price/time TBA).
Bike Repairs/Maintenance: As a bike mechanic and builder, I either stock or have the ability to get several items such as powermeter cranksets, tires, tubes, cassettes, chains, stems, Garmin Computers, aerobars, cranks, derailleurs, brakes, etc. Let me know ahead of time if you know you need something installed/replaced/fixed, and I'll make sure we have it ready for you.
Cancellation/Refund/Deposit Policies: A minimum 50% down deposit is due at time of registration to hold your spot. Full Payment is due by February 15, 2013. Payment can be made via cash, check, bank draft, money order, or PayPal. (Add 3% for PayPal fees).
Re: Cancellation. Deposits are 100% refundable if you notify us BEFORE January 15, 2013. Deposits are 50% refundable if you notify us January 16 - February 15. Deposits are non-refundable should you decide to cancel AFTER February 15, 2013.
