This 3 hour sprint Adventure Race will take place from 1-4 PM. Teams of 3 will compete for the title of Adventure Race champions. The Deckers Creek Adventure Race is designed to challenge beginner and more experienced racers alike. The race will include activities such as cycling, foot travel, canoeing, orienteering and many mystery challenges that will test both your body and your mind. Events will take place along the Caperton and Deckers Creek Rail-Trails, on the Monongahela River, and throughout the WVU Core Arboretum.

Regular registration ends September 21, 2012.  Late registration is September 22, 2012 -October 5th, 2012.  No race day registration.  We race rain or shine and entry fees are non-refundable.  All racers registered before regular registration deadline are guaranteed to receive an Adventure Race commemorative t-shirt. Late registrants may receive but are not guaranteed t-shirts. All racers and volunteers will enjoy music, food and beverages after the race.  Prizes are awarded to top three teams in each division.  Divisions include: Male, Female, Coed and Youth/Family.  Youth/Family teams must have at least one youth participant age 12-17 and at least one adult team member.

This event will be great for first time and young racers due to the freedom to complete the race as you see best based on your team's abilities and goals. Advanced racers will also be challenged as strategy comes into play with the course's many events, all of which may not be possible to accomplish within the 3-hour time limit.

Course Information:

Events will take place along the Caperton and Deckers Creek Rail-Trails, on the Monongahela River, and throughout the WVU Core Arboretum. Due to the open course design (*participants will choose their route and race strategy) accurate distances for the race cannot be stated. However, it is predicted that an advanced team who manages to complete all of the challenges and legs of the race will cover approximately 12 miles of cycling, 4-5 miles of foot travel, and 1 mile of canoeing while a beginner team may only cover half that distance.
