Note to those who have been to our race before: The campsite and race start/finish have moved! New Directions to be posted prior to Race Day.

EVERY PERSON IN EVERY VEHICLE MUST HAVE A PICTURE ID TO ENTER THE FORT. THE CAR MUST ALSO HAVE REGISTRATION AND INSURANCE. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.

  • Follow Gordon Hwy and turn left into Gate 1.
  • Show PICTURE ID, CURRENT REGISTRATION, and INSURANCE CARD to the security guards and tell them you are with the MedWAR race. You may be pulled to the side to open your hood, trunk, & glove box. Dont worry, its normal, but you should budget extra time for it.
  • Once you get inside the fort , go straight 3.3 miles on Chamberlein Road through the main area of the fort and past the recycling center.
  • Take a Left onto 15th St at the stop sign. Go through the next stop sign and past the Bingo Palace (on the left).

    Race Specific Rules

Assistance on the course: Teams are responsible for their own safety. Any unsafe behavior will be immediately addressed. Penalties may range from a simple warning to immediate disqualification at the discretion of the Race Directors.

Adventure racing: Teams must support themselves during the race. There will be no aid stations or mile markers. Race officials will not give directions, information regarding distances, or information about other teams.

Assisting other teams: Teams may choose to work together in finding a checkpoint or sharing food and water. Teams may NOT share required equipment or deliberately mislead other competitors. If a team is noted to be having a true medical emergency (not a planned simulation) assistance must be rendered. The team receiving assistance may be assessed a time penalty. The team rendering assistance will receive a generous time bonus based on the nature of care delivered.

Criterion grading: In some instances a minimal level of competency must be demonstrated for the medical or physical challenges. In these cases, the team will not be allowed to proceed unless all the critical actions for the station are met.
Preparation to meet the medical challenges outlined in the curriculum. Part of the MedWAR challenge is race preparation. Obviously you will not be tested on all possible medical topics. Teams should be able to complete the course without having to pack extensive packs; however, you may bring reference materials during the race. You are resonsible for waterproofing. NO PDAs

Equipment checks: Random equipment checks may occur during the race. Failure to have the required equipment or carrying forbidden gear may result in a time penalty or disqualification.

Equipment on course: All equipment brought onto the course must be carried throughout the race. No littering.

Volunteers: Do not argue with volunteers over grading. They did not make up the scenarios. They cannot change them. If you disagree with a critical action, please bring it to the attention of a Race Director.

As part of the Post-Race Celebration, alcoholic beverages may be provided. You must be 21 to partake. Please be responsible.
    Have fun!!
