2009 Fairlee Great Triathlon Race Course:
During our two-year absence from Fairlee in 2007 and 2008, Time Out! got ‘hammered’ with e-mails begging us to put Fairlee back on the schedule. When you race here this summer, you’ll see what the ‘cry’ was all about:
¾-mile swim:
Triangular design in clear, refreshing Lake Morey.
Water normally in the low to mid-70s.
17-mile bike:
An out-and-back course newly tested in 2006 and applauded by the racers!
Rolling terrain through typical-Vermont farmland.
Several long and flat ‘let-er-rip’ stretches mixed in with two short ‘Fairlee typical’ out-of-saddle climbs.
5-mile run:
A shaded, rolling loop around Lake Morey.
Course volunteer are the attendees of Camp Lanikila and Aloha. Are they enthusiastic? You betcha!
