Cycling Routes:
A variety of routes allow you to enjoy scenic Cape Cod, its canal and Camp Burgess in Sandwich. Choose your cycling route:
- 100 mile Century Ride from Hanover to Sandwich
- 50 mile ride
- 25 mile ride
- 7- or 12 mile Jr. TREK Family rides on Cape Cod Canal
- Ride 7 or 12 miles with children ages 7-14
- 1 mile Children's Ride for ages 4-6
- Come for Saturday or stay over in a cabin Friday night and enjoy family camp activities
- Fun, age-appropriate activities will run throughout the day at Camp Burgess
Course Information:
100 Mile Century Ride from Hanover to Sandwich
The Century Ride departs from the Y's Mill Pond branch in Hanover. This route is only for experienced riders who average 18 miles an hour while cycling and all riders must be at least 14 years old. The route is mostly unsupported with the exception of a sag wagon and water stop at about the 36 mile point. Bike transportation back to Hanover can be accommodated for those who pre-register for this service. The 100 mile ride departs from Hanover at 6:00am. Rider Registration begins at 5:00am.
50 Mile Ride
The 50 mile route consists of 2 loops around the 25 mile route and is for riders of all experience and skill levels, age 14 and up. The 50 mile ride departs from Camp Burgess at 8:00am. Rider Registration begins at 7:00am.
25 Mile Ride
The 25 Mile route is for riders of all experience and skill levels, age 14 and up. The 25 mile ride departs from Camp Burgess at 9:30am. Rider Registration begins at 8:30am.
Jr. TREK on the Cape Cod Canal
Jr. TREK riders (ages 7-14) and families can participate in 12- or 7- mile scenic rides on the Cape Cod Canal bike path. The 12 mile ride is for riders age 12 & up. Transportation to and from the canal is provided from Camp Burgess or families can follow us to the trail in their own vehicles. Jr. TREK riders depart camp at 9:00am and the Jr. TREK canal rides start at 9:30am. Children not riding with their family are welcome to join a group led by our Camp staff.
