At Tri Sprouts, the joy is in participating and in completing a triathlon. Everyone is a winner and gets to strut around the race venue with his or her finisher's medal after crossing the finish line with a big smile.

The bike course is out and back, and very flat. Bicycles (with or without training wheels), tricycles, big wheels, and scooters are welcome.

2012 Sudbury Spring Kids Triathlon:
About 3rd annual Tri SproutsWatch your kids bloom at Tri Sprouts, a triathlon for kids ages 4 to 12 years. The focus of this race is on fun--a fun 50 yard swim in Atkinson pool, a gentle 1 mile bike ride, followed by a nice 1/2 mile run. No pressure to beat their friends, no timing to feel like they are being judged, and no tears because they didn't win.
At Tri Sprouts, the joy is in participating and in completing a triathlon. Everyone is a winner and gets to strut around the race venue with his or her finisher's medal after crossing the finish line with a big smile.
Course Information:
50 yd swim, 1 Mile Bike, 1/2 Mile Run
The Race CourseSixteen swimmers are sent off in each swim wave with two children to each pool lane. There are plenty of lifeguards and support at the pool. Children are welcome to wear flotation devices and/or swim with a noodle.
The bike course is out and back, and very flat. Bicycles (with or without training wheels), tricycles, big wheels, and scooters are welcome.The run is out and back on the field parallel to the bike course. There are many volunteers on the bike and run courses to support and cheer the athletes.
