Tri-Insanity is just what it sounds like, a triathlon that truly marks you as INSANE for not only attempting to finish the course, but competing from the gun to the Finish line. First swim in one of the calmest, and cleanest lakes in the area with no motor boats, and no traffic. The forest landscape surrounding the lake makes it almost seem surreal, which is why the swim is coined the Soothing Swim. After you exit T1 you can say goodbye to all soothing aspects of the race because you are venturing out on the Torcherous Trek, which begins with you making the climb of your life out of the lower section of the park. Once you mount the climb of death you will be blessed with endless rolling hills and curvy roads all the way back to the start where you encounter descent of death back to T2. The bike course is challenging and it is fun! When you exit T2 you will run head into The Ass Kicker. This could of got its name because the choppy steps to start the run will have you doing glut kicks, or it could be because once you make it to the finish it will leave you feeling as if you just finished a serious night in the fight club! This is the most unique run course in any midwest triathlon. It takes place in the off-road trailings area at St. Joe park, and will have you following a very well marked course winding through the trails and paths with small creek beds to cross and plenty of gritty sand to push through. This run will challenge even the best runner, but trust us when we say, the experience is worth it. When you cross that finish line you will officially have survived Tri-Insanity!
