• Local cyclists from the casual cruiser to the passionate pedaller -- who have long-considered cycling into Boston will now have the opportunity to roll into the Hub from several surrounding areas with a police escort and/or and a team of guides as the city hosts its first Bike Fridays. The monthly event is an extension of the recent Bay State Bike Week and the upcoming Hub On Wheels citywide bike ride, which raises money for Boston Public School Students. Bike Friday also features free breakfast and music in City Hall Plaza for riders to enjoy once they have finished their trek to the city.
• The concept of Bike Friday is meant to help new cyclists enjoy biking in Boston, says Nicole Freedman, Director of Boston Bikes. Besides, its a great way for riders to see the city while saving gas, meeting new friends and practicing for Hub On Wheels!
