This is the thrid year for the Healthy Habits Youth Triathlon Series in Southern Maine.
The Biddeford Aquathlon is the first of the series, followed by the Sanford Triathlon on August 12th and the Freeport Triathlon on September 16th.
The Aquathlon involves only Swimming and Running.
The distances are short, which makes it inviting to first timers and allows the more experienced participants to make it a true "all-out-sprint".
Distances:
5-6 years: 25 yards(0.5 laps) swim and 0.6 mile run
7-8 years: 75 yards (1.5 laps) swim and 0.6 mile run
8-9 years: 125 yards (2.5 laps) swim and 0.6 mile run
11-12 years: 225 yards (4.5 laps) swim and 1.2 mile run
13-15 years: 275 yards (5.5 laps) swim and 1.8 mile run
Course Information:
The swim is completed in the Northern York County Family YMCA's 25 yard, 6 lane pool.
The run is a 0.6 mile loop that is a combination of grass trails and paved sidewalks that circle around the YMCA campus.

Directions:
Exit 32 on the Maine Turnpike.
Turn left on Rt 111 (Alfred Road)
Travel approximately 0.5 miles and turn left on Barra Road
Travel 50 yards and turn right onto Pomerleau Street
Turn left into YMCA entrance
Park in upper lot, behind the YMCA building
