2012 Mighty Kids Triathlon:

  • All kids like to swim, ride bikes, and run around.
  • Well, if you get all those activities going in the same direction you've got a triathlon.
  • The Mighty Kids Triathlon is fun way for kids to get outside and exercise.
  • It consists of three legs (swim, bike, and run) of varying distances depending on the age of the competitor. Every competitor gets a finisher's medal, but it is a race so we will be timing everybody and the top finishers in each age group will get a trophy.
  • The enitre event happens inside Rocky Neck State Park. It's a great way to spend a Sunday morning, so please come out and join the fun!

    • Course Information:


    The entire race takes place inside Rocky Neck State Park. The distances vary by age group as follows:
    • Ages 6 to 8: 75 yd swim / 0.75 mi. bikes / 0.25 mi. run
    • Ages 9 and 10: 125 yd swim / 2 mi. bike / 0.5 mi. run
    • Ages 11 and 12: 175 yd swim / 4 mi. bike / 1 mi. run
    • Ages 13 and 14: 200 yd swim / 6 mi. bike / 1.5 mi. run

    Directions:


    Directions to Rocky Neck State Park:
  • Exit 72 off I-95: Follow the turnpike connector south to Route 156.
  • Turn left and take Route 156 east for 1/4 mile to the park.
  • The park street address is 244 West Main Street (Route 156).
  • Once inside the park, follow the signs to the beach.


    • Parking:

  • There will be a DEP State Park parking fee of $9 per car for residents.
  • $14 per car non-residents.
