2012 Lake Como Triathlon:
Located in the Bitterroot National Forest, the Lake Como Triathlon is a destination venue.
The beautiful Lake Como, named after Lake Como of Italy, is situated under the Como peaks and have attracted athletes, mountain bikers, climbers, skiers, campers, and travelers for years.
Presented by Quality Motors Used Cars & Trucks in Hamilton, this is a not-for-profit event to raise funds for the Lost Trail Ski Patrol, the Ravalli County Search & Rescue, the Como Trails Ski Club, and the Trapper Peak Job Corp Student Council.
Sign ups are 8:00AM March 5th; space is limited to 100 slots including teams.
This event is authorized by a Special Use Permit to take place in the Bitterroot National Forest.
Experience the Lake Como Triathlon and you’ll want to come back for more.
The beer-tasting Brewfest follows in Hamilton where it is a tradition to strut your body numbers with friends and family.

SWIM:
The 1500 yard swim is in ice-melt Lake Como.
Temperature may be 68 degrees - wetsuits highly recommended even for July.
Swim is an out towards the mountains and back to the beach.
BIKE:
The 12.6 mile mountain bike is on Forest Service roads and three single tracks.
Overall elevation change is 2,280.
Starting at an elevation of 4,272 to 5,160.
Ends on the dam.

RUN:
The 7.7 mile run is a scenic single-track trail run around the perimeter of the lake, falls and bridge at midpoint and ending on the dam.

One hour 20 minutes South of Missoula on Hwy 93.
20 minutes South of Hamilton.
About 4 miles North of Darby. National Forest sign at West Turnoff.
