Distance: 1/3 mile swim / 10.5 mile bike / 3 mile run

Your 1/3 mile swim is set in a sheltered, shallow, clear water cove with an awesome view of US Navy air craft carrier USS Saratoga. After the swim you will head to a large transition area and proceed to a 10.5 mile bike on and off the Naval Station. The entire ride you will be following along Narragansett Bay. The final part of the challenge is a 3 mile run though Naval Station Newport with continued ocean views and historic naval buildings. Military and civilians welcome on the base for this event.

From Interstate 95: Take Interstate 95 South onto HWY 4. HWY 4 will turn into US 1. Bear right onto 138 East (Newport Bridge). Travel over the Jamestown Bridge and Newport Bridge (toll). Once over Newport Bridge continue on 138 East towards Fall River and Cape Cod. Follow exit towards "Newport Grand" and bear right coming off the exit. Enter rotary, go around the rotary to other side and go over the railroad tracks and through the stoplight. This will take you to Gate 1 of Naval Station Newport. Follow signage to Triathlon parking.
From Interstate 195: Take Route 24 South (49 miles) till it becomes Route 114 South. Follow Route 114 South straight (7 miles). Turn right at the light onto Admiral Kalbfus Road/Route 138. Newport Grand is on the left hand side after the 2nd light. Enter rotary, go around the rotary to other side and go over the railroad tracks and through the stoplight. This will take you to Gate 1 of Naval Station Newport. Follow signage to Triathlon parking.
