Description:

2012 White Star PT Services Triathlon:

  • Join HFP Racing, PT Services and the Sandusky County Park District as we bring back the White Star PT Services Triathlon on July  21st at White Star Park in Gibsonburg.
  • The race will feature a 750 yard swim in the crystal clear White Star quarry followed by a 20k (12.4 miles) bike on the country roads around the park and finishing with a flat two lap 5k trail run.
  • This race is the perfect first timer event or a flat and fast PR opportunity for the veteran triathlete.
  • Course Info:
  • Our venue (White Star Park Quarry) is unique because it provides clean, clear, algae and seaweed-free water for the swim.
  • This is a huge plus for athletes as many races offer muddy, cloudy water and detract from the participants willing to take the plunge.
  • The quarry is deep and is also a popular scuba diving venue.
  • The bike portion will take place on county roads with crossroads well maintained for the safety of the athletes.
  • The run portion will take place on the well-maintained wooded trails that have been used by the local cross country team as well as hikers and nature enthusiasts. The shady trails will offer a cool break from the summer sun.
  • Both men and women are able to compete, and teams of two or three participants competing as a relay team are welcome as well.
  • We welcome first timers as well as veteran athletes!
