2012 Sweet Tri - Sprint Triathlon & Kids Duathlon:
September 1st is the date set for the 2nd annual running of The "Sweet Tri." The Sweet Tri boasts a great course showcasing two great White Mountain communities - Snowflake and Taylor. Because it is paired with the Taylor Sweet Corn Festival the Sweet Tri makes a good beginning to a great family weekend. It's all for a great cause too - proceeds will be going to finance and improve the community pool. This event is the perfect reason to get into shape, fine tune your race in a beautiful setting, or just to escape the heat of the valley for a high altitude challenge. This is a USA Triathlon sanctioned sprint event. It starts in rotating waves of 12 swimmers for a 750-yd swim at the Snowflake Pool, transitions to a 13.1-mile bike on city streets, and finishes with a 3.1-mile run on beautiful historic Snowflake streets. Awards are overall and three deep in each age group (increments of 5 yrs, i.e., 30-34, 35-39), and gender.

Kids Duathlon for ages 12 and under will be 1/2 mile run, 2 mile bike, then 1/3 mile run and will take place after the awards ceremony at about 10:30 am.
