2012 XTERRA Camp Eagle Triathlon:
Camp Eagle is a solid 3 hour drive from Austin and about the same from San Antonio.
It’s located at the headwaters of the Nueces River and has been a part of the XTERRA Point Series for several years.
If you come once, you will come again. It’s spectacular! And, by the way, there is a really cool XTERRA race that takes place there.

XTERRA Camp Eagle Triathlon Race Course:
Swim: 1000M
Bring your wetsuits!
The Nueces River is spring fed at a few million gallons a day and the perfect temp for our April date.
The swim course is made up of a few sections: First there is an out and back section (easy) and then a few surprises hit you…like a dam, for instance.
Be ready for adventure on the swim unlike any other race.
Bike: 16 Miles
Single track under a thick canopy of trees….and rocks.
It’s a favorite on the TMBRA series because it combines beauty and challenge in a way that most places can not.
Run: 4 miles
Running here is not so hard for some reason.
There is not a lot of time to think about the pain as you try to navigate all the obstacles (rocks), inclines (big hills), and water (that river again).
You might have wet shoes when you’re done. If you don’t, you cheated.
