SWIM
Participants will start every ten seconds via serpentine swim staggered according to predicted 150 yard swim time. Swimmers will start once every fifteen to thirty seconds. You will swim down one side of the lane, back the other, then underneath the lane line, down, back, etc. If you catch the swimmer in front of you, tap them on the foot. If you are tapped on the foot, please let the swimmer behind you pass at the next turn, not in the middle of the pool. When finished, exit the south pool doors and head toward the bike racks.
BIKE
There is NO biking in the transition area. Once you have exited the transition area, you may mount your bike at that time. You will travel around the front of the building and make a right onto Progress Parkway. Please use caution and start as far to the right as possible when approaching Progress Parkway
You will bike toward the end of Progress Parkway, turn around and head back toward the Community Center. As you approach the Community Center, you will see the Turn sign on the road. You will turn around the sign, then head back towards the end of Progress Parkway and proceed to complete two more laps, for a total of three laps. Each lap is three miles long, equaling nine total bike miles. As you finish your third and final lap, bike into the Community Center lot and back to the Transition Area. Dismount your bike and walk your bike through the Transition Area to the bike rack. Please use caution when making turns. The roads will be closed to all traffic, but be aware of the bicyclists around you. Helmet must be worn at all times throughout the bike portion of the race. No exceptions.
Run
After you rack your bike, you will run around the back side of the Community Center (in the grass), to the trail that runs adjacent to Progress Parkway. Stay on the right side of the path until you reach the Turn Sign and return to the Community Center via the path. This out and back path totals three miles. The finish line is where the trail meets the parking lot.
After check in, park your bike on the rack located on the south side (behind) of the building. Any materials needed for the bike/run can be placed on or adjacent to your bike. Any valuables should be placed in your vehicle or if you have a lock, you may have use of our locker room. You may use the pool for warm up between 8:15-8:45am. All participants must be on deck no later than 8:45.
Awards will be awarded to the top three in age groups. Awards will take place half an hour after the final finisher in the Community Center Gymnasium. Age Groups are : 15 & under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59 and 60 & up.
