2012 Bastrop Lost Pines Triathlon: ( In spite of the Fire in 2011, Park should be in good shape by Race Day)
This event is held in the beautiful Bastrop State Park.
The run and bike are on pavement and along tree lined park roads and are quite challenging.
Race Day: Sunday check in at 6:00am at Bastrop State Park.
The transition area will be next to the pool.
You must be body marked before you go into the transition area.
Event will be Chip Timed
Athletes claim that this is the Hardest Sprint in Texas

Swim:
The swim is a 200 meter snake style, time trial pool swim.
Bike:
The 16 mile bike course is an out & back course on lightly traveled roads.
The Course is the Park road between Bastrop State Park and Buescher State Park.
The course is hilly and scenic.
Run:
The 3.4 mile run is a circular route on paved tree covered roads.

Bastrop State Park History:
Bastrop State Park is 5,926 total acres; approximately 30 miles southeast of Austin in Bastrop County.
It is the site of the famous "Lost Pines," an isolated timbered region of loblolly pine and hardwoods.
Directions:
The park is one mile east of Bastrop on Texas 21.
Also accessible from the east on Texas 71 or by way of Buescher State Park along Park Road 1.
