XTERRA Black Diamond starts with a swim in beautiful Lake Sawyer with the swimmers crossing XTERRA island on foot half way through the swim. Then onto the mountain bike which is completely off road, true Pacific Northwest mountain biking. The finish is around Frog Pond and includes single track and fire roads. 1/2terra is 1/2 the distance but all the fun. All athletes receive a meal after finishing.

From the North or West:
Take State Route 516 east through Kent and Covington. Turn right on 216th Ave. SE (Chevron on the right). Follow the arterial of 216th for 2.8 miles to the intersection at SE 312th St. ΒΌ mile to the left is the race site and limited parking. To the right is ample parking at Sawyer Woods Elementary school.
From the South:
Take Highway 18 through Auburn to the Auburn-black Diamond Road Exit. At the stop sign, turn right on Auburn-Black Diamond road and travel almost 5 miles to the Stop sign. Turn right (this is also Auburn Black-Diamond Road). Continue for 4.2 miles to Lake Sawyer Road. Turn Left. Drive 1 mile to the intersection at SE 312th St. To the right is the race site with limited parking. To the left is ample parking at Sawyer Woods Elementary school.
