Are you up for the challenge of Floridas Premier Endurance Event, the Florida Challenge Triathlon?
In celebration of the 25th Anniversarry edition of the Florida Challenge Triathlon, next years race moves forward one month to September 27, 2009.
For the past seven years the Florida Challenge Triathlon has been held in conjunction with the Great Floridian Triathlon.
The FCT features a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and a 13.1 mile run and is a great tune-up for the Great Floridian and other late season long course races.
During the 2009 Great Floridian Triathlon Festival, besides the featured 2.4-112-26.2 ultra-distance race, a new 2K-60K-15K TriAmerica Distance race will be offered as well.

| Course Info: |
Swim Course:
A 1.2 mile swim in picturesque Lake Minneola, designated as "Outstanding Waters" by the State of Florida.
Projected water temperature: 80-82.
Swim cut-off is 1.25 hours after the start of the last swim wave. Participants still swimming after the cut-off time will not be allowed to continue.
- - - Bike Course:
A 56 mile course consisting of one loop along rural country roads.
No major elevation changes, but you will experience a few rolling hills and a steep but short climb up Sugarloaf Mountain.
Support/aid stations will be located aproximately 10-15 miles apart.
The official bike course cut-off is at 2:00 pm. All participants still on the course at that time will not be allowed to continue and will be removed from the course.
- - - Run Course:
The 13.1 mile course is criterion style, with the first half traveling an out and back course along the South Lake Trail, followed by a flat and fast lap around Lake Minneola.
Support/aid stations will be located approximately one mile apart.
Each support station is equipped with water, Gatorade, HammerGel, ice, sponges, cola (defizzed), fruit and assorted foods.

Clermont is located 20 minutes west of Orlando at the intersection of US HWY 27 and State Road 50.
From State Road 50 in Clermont, take East Avenue north one mile to Palm Avenue and the entrance to Waterfront Park.
Waterfront Park is on the southern shores of Lake Minneola.
