2012 Camp Yuba Triathlon:
The 2011 Camp Yuba sprint & olympic triathlons are all about indian summers, camping, and good ole' fashion swimming, biking, & running.
Yuba State Park is just a half hour south of Utah County and has hosted triathlons for the last decade.
The venue is perfect for triathlons and for 2012, we have arranged a deal with the state park to reserve all campsites for triathletes and their families.
So for 24 hours this September, triathletes are taking over the reservoir!

Course Info:
|
SWIM: Sprint 1/2 mile, Olympic 1 mile
The swim will be a loop course in beautiful Yuba Lake. Swimmers will swim counter clockwise keeping all markers to their left. The loop will be a half mile in length with sprint distance completing one loop and olympic distance completing two.
Water temperature is expected to be around 70 degrees and wetsuits are suggested but not mandatory.
*Transition 1- Swimmers exit up the boat ramp and enter the transition area. No riding bikes in transition area and your helmets must be on and buckled before mounting the bike.
BIKE: Sprint 12.4 miles, Olympic 25 miles
The bike course is located on the roads surrounding Yuba State Park. The roads have very low traffic which makes the bike riding safe and enjoyable. The course will be marked by paint on the ground, large signs, and cones.
There will be several uncovered cattle guards so pay attention! They are pretty smooth going over so we have decided it is better than covering them up.
Sprint Distance- Out and back course covering 12.4 miles. It is basically flat with several slight inclines and declines spaced throughout.
Olympic Distance- Loop course covering the 25 miles. It has a few minor climbs and descents.
*Transition 2- Slow down and dismount at the dismount line. Rack bike and transition to running attire. Exit transition following directional signs. Make sure your race number is on your front before you start running.
RUN: Sprint 5K, Olympic 10K
The run for both distances is on a mix of asphalt and hard packed dirt trails.
Slight rollers throughout.
