Aquathlon FAQs
What time does my child start?
- We have three waves for the kids, 8:00, 8:05, and 8:10. These times are approximate. Waves two and three will begin after the last swimmer from the previous wave is out of the water and at the transition area. Check the wave sheet for details.
What are the distances my child is doing today?
- 4-5 year olds are swimming 25 yds and running 1 lap. 6-9 year olds are swimming 50 yds and running 2 laps. 10-12 year olds are swimming 100 yds and running 3 laps. Age up ruling does not apply, but these distances are consistent with USAT distances.
Can my child use any sort of flotation device?
- If you child needs assistance, we have a limited number of kickboards available or you may bring your own. But please, no other flotation devices.
What lane is my child in?
- Lane assignments will be posted during packet pick-up on Saturday, March 24th. 9-13 year olds will be sharing the lane with another participant.
Where is the transition area?
- Transition is set up just outside of the pool area in front of the lockers. Each transition box is marked with your child’s bib number.
Why is my child just swimming and running?
- For safety reasons due to the sizing limitations and technical aspect of the spin bikes.
