2012 Revoultion3 South Carolina Half & Olympic Triathlons:
Revolution3 is again hosting two triathlons in Anderson, South Carolina.
The Olympic Rev & Half rev triathlons will take place on Sunday, October 14, 2012.
Athletes of all levels will compete in either the Olympic distance race or the half distance race.
The olympic consists of a .9 mile swim, 24 mile bike and a 6.2 mile run.
The half distance is a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and a 13.1 mile run.
Over 1,500 athletes from all over the globe are expected to compete in Anderson in October 2012.
Pro-triathletes and amateurs alike will be competing for large cash prizes and both have the opportunity to earn points towards the series cash bonus!

Swim:
The swim takes place in Lake Hartwell is one of the southeast’s largest and most popular public recreation lakes.
The swim is a large arc.
You will start the swim leaving from the southern beach area of the park, swimming in a counter clockwise direction around the park’s peninsula, and exiting the lake at the boat launch area on the north shore.
Bike:
The bike starts at Darwin Wright park and will take you out to rural Anderson County along rolling hills and farm country, with a few climbs and some “big ring” action for you too.
Technical areas include Timm’s Mill – watch the descent, there is a hairpin turn at the bottom, and beautiful, historic downtown Pendleton – lots of quick turns.
You will pass Darwin Wright Park on your way back to T2 located at the Anderson Civic Center.
Bike Course: Map
Run:
The run course is compact using the running trails of the Anderson Civic Center as your start.
You will run on pavement, running trails and part of a cross-country team’s dirt trail through the woods, before returning to pavement.
You will cross straight @ Martin Luther King Blvd, turning right onto Johnny Mathes Blvd for your run to the finish line.

Anderson, SC is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains on the shores of beautiful Lake Hartwell in an area commonly known as “The Upstate”.
Anderson is within a two hour drive of two major metropolitan areas – Atlanta, GA and Charlotte, NC.
Lake Hartwell, the location for the swims is one of the largest and most popular recreation lakes in the southeast, and is home to a number of state parks, public campgrounds, boat ramps and marinas.
