2012 Chisago Lakes Triathlon:
Sweden is closer than you think!
The 7th Annual Triathlon will again feature the friendly Swedish communities of the Chisago Lakes Area. Paradise Park offers an eagle eye’s view of the swim course.
The Swedish influence abounds throughout the event as you finish under the Swedish Flag.
The swim is at beautiful Paradise Park on Chisago Lake.
The bike heads along scenic Chisago County roads.
Enjoy friendly neighborhoods as you run through Chisago and its surrounding cities.

DISTANCE Sprint: ¼ mile swim, 22 mile bike, 3.1 mile run Half: 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run
THE COURSE
Swim The swim is at beautiful Paradise Beach/Chuckie Lundquist Park in Chisago Lake. Plenty of buoys will be available to rest if needed and a balloon arch as the guide for the finish point.
Bike The bike course is new: few rollers, mainly flat. The run goes through charming residential streets with community support and several water stations.
Run Both run courses follow residential roads. Roads are well kept and flat.
QUICK BIKE SAFETY CHECK CAN BE DONE AT FOREST CYCLE AND SKATE TENT the morning of the event. Fairview Lakes Health Services will be providing excellent medical coverage for the weekend. We will have massage therapists on hand for the Half Ironman.

Take 35W or 35E north to I-35.
Take Exit 132 east onto Highway 8 (10 miles) to Chisago City.
At the stoplight go south on Old Towne Road/County Road 24 one block to Stinson Avenue then left to Paradise/Chuckie Lundquist Park. 11031 Stinson Avenue, Chisago City, MN 55013

Take Highway 95 east to North Branch, turn right on County Road 14 then keep right on County Road 77 to Chisago City.
At the stoplight go south on Old Towne Road/County Road 24 one block to Stinson Avenue then left to Paradise/Chuckie Lundquist Park, 11031 Stinson Avenue, Chisago City, MN 55013.

- The Chisago Lakes Half Iron is the 2012 Minnesota State Championship Series Long Distance Triathlon Championship.

- All participants must have have an annual USAT membership or purchase a one-day license for $10.
- The results will be scored and posted in the annual national rankings.

- Each age group has very achievable distances.
- The swim course is parallel to the shore and never over waist deep.
