2012 High Cliff Triathlon:

  • The 9th Annual, High Cliff Triathlon has been named the Official Badger State Games Triathlon for 2012.

  • Sensationally beautiful, High Cliff Park is one of the most picturesque locations in Northeast Wisconsin. It features a panoramic view of Lake Winnebago.

  • Course Information:

    RACE DISTANCES
Half : 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run
Sprint: 14 mile swim, 22 mile bike, 5K run

    THE COURSE
    Swim
The swim is in Lake Winnebago along a unique and panoramic shoreline; starting and finishing at the beach.  Plenty of buoys will be available to rest if needed and as a guide for the finish point.  Large balloon arch to sight for the swim finish.

    Bike
Both courses head out of the park climbing High Cliff.  High Cliff is the signature of the event.  The course continues up Tower Drive with a few undulating hills. The long course heads down scenic Lake Shore Drive that is very well groomed and flat.   The sprint course begins the same as the long course then heads east on Faro Springs.

    Run
The run courses go through a very scenic park area including up the hill for a beautiful overview of the Lake Winnebago shoreline.  The short course cuts off at a trail and heads down High Cliff to the finish.  The long course is a double loop and also heads down High Cliff to the finish.

Great race! This was my first half race, it challenged me to heights I never thought I could achieve. The swim is a challenging course with the potential for a good chop. The bike has a huge surprise at the start, the rest of the ride is on rolling county road. In all the bike section was good. The run portion has the same big surprise at the start and then flows into a beutiful trail run with plenty of aid stations. I enjoy a great value and this is one.
