Zone 5 Events is hosting the Mountain Madness Triathlon on May 6th 2012. The race will consist of 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and a 13.1 mile run. The event will take place at Carters Lake, located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia very close to Ellijay, GA.
The swim will be held in the clear calm waters of Carters Lake. The bike portion is an out and back course that winds around the lake and heads north to Ft. Mountain State Park and returns back to Carter's Lake, allowing athletes to experience the beautiful scenery and challenging hills this area has to offer. The run course offers a continuation of the challenging terrain at one of North Georgia's best kept secrets.
Spectators will have an excellent view of the race overlooking both the swim course and transition area from atop the beach area. In addition, the 2-loop run course allows you to cheer your favorite athletes and teammates across the finish line.
