The mission of the Stamford JCC Kids Triathlon is to establish and nurture childrens ability to live an active and healthy lifestyle. Children ages 4 to 14 are given the opportunity to be fit and active, build strong friendships, reach their potential and have fun. Although this is a competitive event, the focus is on fun, fitness and personal challenge.

There will be three age groups: 4-8 years, 7-10 years, and 11-14 years. We will have participation awards, t-shirts, goodie bags, and age-group awards.

Race distances:

Ages 4-6: swim 25 meters, bike .25 miles, run .2 miles
Ages 7-10: swim 75 meters, bike 2 miles, run .5 miles
Ages 11-14: swim 150 meters, bike 4 miles, run 1 mile
Relay teams are available in all age groups.

Course Information:

Race begins in the JCC pool. From the swim, children run to the transition area, put on their helmets and shoes. They will mount their bikes, head out to the bike course on local roads closed to all vehicular traffic and controlled by police officers. The youngest children will stay on the JCC property at all times. Following the bike event, children return to the transition area, put their bikes away, and head to the run on the JCC fields. The race ends on the JCC property.
