The Mountain Empire Challenge is a 4 race series. The essentials are: MEC points will be awarded for finishers in three categories - male solo, female solo and team relay and events are running, cycling and kayaking/canoeing. Racers must participate is a minimum of three races in the series in order to qualify for the MEC.
The third race of the series is the Bristol Challenge Duathlon/Triathlon. The race benefits Girls Inc. of Bristol VA-TN, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for girls 5-18 years of age providing structured after school and summer programs.
