2011 Capital City Biathlon:

  • Lake Springfield Beach House is the race headquarters and is located east of I 55 and south of Springfield, Illinois.
  • The race is sanctioned by USAT and features a 3.1 out and back run over historic Lindsay Bridge and followed by a 15 mile bike ride along Lake Springfield and into the prairie located south of Lake Springfield.
  • Divisions are composed of men, women, clydesdale and athenas.
  • We also team divisions for men, women and coeds.
  • Finisher medals and t shirts are given to all finishers.
  • Post race party with food and refreshments is offered for racers and volunteers.

    • Course Information:


  • 3.1 mile out and back run starting on Long Bay Lane near Lake Springfield Beach House goes over historic Lindsay Bridge.
  • The run is flat and fast. The 15 mile bike ride starts at the transition area in front of the Lake Springfield Beach House and is an out and back course.
  • The course winds along the east edge of Lake Springfield and then proceeds south and east into the gently rolling praire.

  • Race headquarters is at the Lake Springfield Beach House on beautiful Lake Springfield on the south side of the City of Springfield, Illinois.
  • Go east on Toronto Rd from I-55 at the Lindsay Bridge.
  • Lake Springfield Beach House is on Long Bay Lane.
