Not your ordinary triathlon- 5th annual Bow N Go Triathlon consists of cycling, running & archery. Approx 21 miles out & back bike on pavement/approx 4 mile trail run/archery. Biking & running are timed & archery score based on accuracy. Can only use bows provided by Archery Club (genesis or recurve compound). Takes place at NRD Big Indian Recreation Area 14 mile south & 3 miles east of Beatrice. Individual or 2 to 3 person teams. Registration & prerace archery practice at 6:30 a.m. w/ event starting at 7:30. early registration by June 10th $30/person $65 team after June 10th $40 person/$70 team. Course Information:


The cycling course is entirely on pavement/asphalt; and any type of bike is allowed (mountain or road bike). The trail run portion will take participants along a scenic route along the hiking trails around Big Indian Lake. Trails are a pressed rock surface or singletrack. The event ends with archery, which is not a timed event and will be scored on accuracy only. The Big Indian Archers Club will supply bows and arrows, as well as tabulate the scores. (The bows provided will be genesis or recurve compound bows.

Directions:


Race Start: The triathlon will start promptly at 7:30 am with the Bike competition at the Big Indian Recreation Area. (14 miles south & 2 miles east of Beatrice or approx 6 miles East of Odell) Race day registration will be held at the picnic shelters near the Archery Range on the west side of the Lake beginning at 6:30AM. To get to the registration area and the Archery Range, turn off Hwy. 8 at the Big Indian sculpture and follow the signs to the Lake and registration area. Its is suggested that you get to registration early enough to allow time to drop off your bike at the transition area. You may register & get driving directions to bike start as it will be visible from the registration area & is within walking distance (approx 12 mile).
