2011 City of Anderson Earth Day Biathlon & 5k Fun Run/Walk:

  • The competitive biathlon will be a 5K run coupled with a 10 mile bicycle ride.
  • The competitive component of the race will be timed.
  • The competitive race will start at 9:00am.
  • The Fun Run/Walk will not be timed and is meant to encourage families to participate together.
  • The Fun Run/Walk will start after the competitive race.
  • Staging for both events will be at the Shadyside Recreation Area Activity Center.
  • Attend Earth Day Arbor Fest 2011 at Shadyside Memorial Park immediately following the race.

    • Course Information:


    Biathlon:
  • 5K run & 10 mile bike.
  • Running will take place on a paved trail within the Shadyside Recreation Area.
  • Bicycling will take place on-road, part of the Lenape Bikeway.

    5K Run/Walk:
  • The Fun Run/Walk will start after the competitive race.
  • The Fun Run/Walk will be a 5K distance on the paved trail within
  • The Fun Run/Walk will not be timed.
