In 1870 the first Missouri, Kansas and Texas train rolled into a new town in southeast Kansas. The town would become Parsons, Kansas and the railroad would be remembered as the Katy. One hundred thirty-seven years later, our community celebrates its railroad heritage and town history with the seventh annual Katy Days Festival. Its Kansas only railroad-themed festival.
Parsons is located in Southeast Kansas, 2 hours from either Kansas City, Wichita, Tulsa or Springfield.
Parsons is located right at the intersection of HWY 400 and HWY 59.
